Getting Web Traffic: The Worst Tactics
There are many people that will do whatever takes in order to get traffic to their websites. Here are two mistakes that you should avoid and what should be done instead.
Search engine optimization
In an attempt to bring in more visitors to their website people often make changes to the site that are misleading to potential visitors.
There are many times when you will have hidden text that is full of keywords and is the same color as the background. There are other people that try hiding a great number of keywords at the base as their website. This practice is often referred to as keyword stuffing. It may attract attention but it is not going to be the type of attention that you want to get. It may also affect how your website is ranked among the search engines.
Search engine optimization can be done properly. You need to take the focus away from keyword stuffing and put that focus on keyword density. You need to make sure that the keywords you use a pure and your website as naturally as possible. A keyword phrase should appear between 3 to 5 times per hundred words in any article that you write input on your website.
Blog commenting
You’ll find and many blogs you’ll be able to leave comments after each post. Many times the people that comment on blogs are allowed to leave a link back to their site in their comments. There are many people that take advantage of this by using automated means to make thousands of blog comments each day. You’ll often find that these comments are generic and the same at each site that they are made on.
If you’re interested in commenting on blogs in order to help get traffic to your website you want to make sure that the comments that you’re making are relevant to the conversation that is going on. This way you are helping to ensure that people interested in what you’re saying and then will feel compelled to see what you have to offer on your website.
